Feel the beat of the music.

Day 6

Life becomes so much easier and bearable when we can tune into the beat of the music and move to the rhythm of those beats. Since last year, I have taken ukulele lessons which have helped me understand the beats of the music. I appreciate and admire people who play musical instruments. As I am only beginning to realise the effort that it takes to play a simple tune and the practice it takes to make it look so effortless.  This year I have taken up dancing and It is challenging and also rewarding when I can complete the steps.

Practice.Patience.Perseverance




Day 5

Practice, patience, perseverance are the three P’s that are essential to success. There are many obstacles that seem to get in the way of reaching our goals. Many of them of our own making, if we can find the time to practice even a small amount each day we will already see the benefits. One of the difficulties is that we want things right now and to see the changes immediately. It takes willpower to hold out for the reward in the long term. Amidst all that we need to keep persevering, striving, reaching and trying never to give up.

Never give up.

Day 4

Although I did not eat as healthy as I wanted to today I realised that there were two positive things that I did end up doing. The first was drinking a lot of water and the second was being active and moving constantly as I tidied around the home. Doing both these things helped me feel better about the day. Tomorrow I will write out a plan of attack for my exercises and aim to get a whole body workout during the week. Never give up, just pick yourself up and get back on track as soon as you can.

Free Day


Day 3

I have decide to make today a ‘free’ day. Having not exercised and eaten ‘party’ foods.
I did need a rest day though as my whole body feels like it has been put through a wringer. My legs, arms, glutes and arms are sore as ever added to that I am just feeling exhausted from not sleeping well. I think sleep is what I need to work on next to make sure I am getting my zzzzzz. I will not beat myself up about it and just start again tomorrow,  although it is Saturday, I will get back on track.

Enjoying the movement.

Day 2

Today the focus has been on effective exercising. I enjoy a variety of workouts and have included this in my daily training.This includes swimming, step, bar, aqua, yoga, cardio and walking. The main aim is to get to do around three hours of exercise three times a week. Today I have spent an hour on the treadmill and crosstrainer. An hour of swimming, at the moment I am doing about 10 laps with all strokes Ending the day with yoga, this enabled me to reflect on the body and work with the breathe to stretch and strengthen the body.

Focus on health and fitness

Day 1

I have made the decision to change my lifestyle to be fit and healthy. Although I have tried many different diets, shakes, fitness regimes, bootcamps etc. I have constantly struggled with my weight loss.Weight is about the physical body as much as the mental and emotional wellbeing.

BEAT IT.

Be active
Eat well
Always be kind
Think Positively

Inspire others
Trust yourself.

To avoid late night snacking I will not eat from 5pm (early dinner) till 7am (next day breakfast). This will give me a 14 hour break from eating. I will commit to do this for one week.

Has it really been 2 years since the Nepal Trek?


Time certainly does fly fast. I thought I would post these pictures of my last major challenge, although I have had many few smaller ones since.
